The Provider Packing a Punch
Constellation offers two 24-month plans that are both cheaper than the competition.
Constellation 24 Month Home Natural Gas Plan +PowerPlug

- $12.95 monthly charge
With this plan, you get the option of adding PowerPlugs to your home. These are smart outlets that you can control via your home’s WiFi. Through the Constellation app, you can set timers or control electronics away from home. Be aware that the monthly charge on this plan is significantly higher than other plans. Additionally, although the PSC does not provide data on this plan specifically. But, using their calculations, we estimate the monthly bill for this plan to be about $117.46.
Constellation 24 Month Home Natural Gas Plan
- $0.599 per therm
- $7.95 monthly charge
This plan has the cheapest rate of any 24-month plans currently available in Augusta. Furthermore, the PSC lists the average monthly bill on this plan is $102.88! These savings outweigh any incentives other plans provide. That is why the Constellation 24-Month Home Natural Gas Plan is my pick of the cheap 24-month plans!
What Happens If I Need to Switch?
If a long-term commitment feels intimidating, then you need to know about early termination fees. The early termination fee (ETF) for each of these plans is $150, except for Georgia Natural Gas®. This provider uses a sliding scale starting at $200 and dropping by $50 every 6 months. So, if you cancel in the last 6 months, you pay $50. Needing or wanting to switch natural gas providers is a possibility you may want to account for. In that case, Georgia Natural Gas® could save you some money. However, keep in mind that if you move out of the service area, you don’t have to pay an ETF.
