    Gas South

    Formed in 2006, Gas South has grown to become the largest natural gas retail provider in Georgia. In 2020, the company acquired Florida-based energy provider Infinite Energy and has expanded its service to more than 425,000 customers in 14 states. Over half, some 250,000 residential, business and governmental customers, are in Georgia.

    Atlanta Gas Light (AGL) is responsible for maintaining the gas lines, gas turn ons and turn offs, and meter reads.

    Gas South services end user residential and commercial natural gas accounts, sends bills and purchases wholesale natural gas for its customers.

    Also, there’s Gas South 6 Month Fixed Plan at $0.689 per therm. The monthly charge is $6.95-$9.95 and the ETF is $150. But, they do not require a deposit and that can save you a bundle when you enroll.

    Finally, for the fixed rate plans, it’s Georgia Natural Gas 12 Month Fixed at $0.699 per therm. The monthly charge is $7.99-$8.99. The ETF starts at $100 for 6 months, then drops to $50 for the rest of the term. There is also a 5¢ per therm reward which effectively drops your rate.

    Wrapping things up, it’s Scana Energy Introductory Variable Rate at $0.399 per therm. The monthly charge is $5.95. As a bonus, you get a $5 credit for 20 months. But remember, after the first month, the rate jumps up to the provider’s standard variable rate. According to the Georgia PSC, that's currently $1.899 per therm.
