I changed to guaranteed plan on 4/07/2023 . The last billing cycle ended on 04/10/2023.
The customer care rep says it will take 2 billing cycle to reflect the change and I have to pay my previous rate until then. Never seen such a slow process in the developed country like US. ”

Do not give this business your money.
I have been a customer of Georgia Natural Gas sinve October 2020. I signed up for the fixed rate "Guaranteed Plan" for convenience sale. My usage has remained the same on average this entire time but my bill increased 100% from November 2022 to December 2022. I am being charged almost three times their advertised contract rate. They automatically renewed my contract before I saw the increased bill so I can't switch to something more affordable without paying a $150 early contract termination fee.
This is reprehensible price gouging. I have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Georgia Public Service Commission. ”
“ First bill included usage prior to service transfer date. Second bill meter reading is also much higher than actual meter. No response from company. Will be canceling with this provider and moving away from this Nat Gas broker ”

“ I am disabled and am unable to qualify for a fixed rate or guaranteed bill plan due to poor credit. In 2016 I was injured and unable to work. It took until 2019 for disability to be approved. From August 2019 I was basically homeless constantly moving until finally securing a place to live in April 2022. Credit reports do not show this kind of information only the credit trouble that accrued. Unfortunately, Georgia Natural Gas company is not disabled-friendly and does NOT have any plans for individuals on disability with past hardships. ”
“ Over the past 5 years I have switched Natural Gas Providers 4 or 5 times. The only time there was a problem was with GNG. They require a site visit which is totally ludicrous. The customer service representatives are nice, but they are absolutely clueless. Each of the 5 times I called I got a different answer. Please note I have had to call five (5) times. I have yet to receive a bill from GNG. I have had to set up an online account twice. My account number has been changed. I have had to set up paperless billing twice. I have had to set up auto pay twice. I am supposed to get a $30 credit for all the problems. Needless to say, I am not holding my breath. I know what rate I signed up for, but I have no idea what rate I will pay. I wish I had selected a different provider. ”

They turned my gas off with no notice and when I called they lied and told me theyd called me on multiple dates, sent me mail, and emailed me which is interesting because all of those things should have records and there were none. when it came to getting my gas back on I had to wait on the phone for over and hour only to find out I would have to wait 5 days before getting my service back. All while making payments. ”

And I dont know if this review is going to make any difference but I set up service, they pulled my credit, assigned me a date and told me I could call for earlier date, when I called they changed the date and lied about it! What a shame. I now regret why I even called. There reps are rude and very inconsiderate. ”

Both times I have been charged a $150 cancellation fee even though they tell me to cancel it when winter is over and say I wont be charged. “ I switched from a competitor to get a 12 month contract at .549 per therm along with a $ 100 promotion gift. when lengthy contract comes in price is .695 with a discount of .15 for good credit. your website, promotion brochure or your your happy sales department. all contact with your company calls very handled very customer unfriendly. I would not renew a contract with your company if you were .15 per therm less than a competitor. $100 promotion not honored! ”

Today the kicker was when I had to renew my fixed gas contracts with Georgia Natural Gas ® for my home and business because the 12 month fixed contracts end 5/31/22 with Georgia Natural Gas ®. I called today because they sent me a notice ( several times at the start of April and every day this week) stating its time to RENEW for the next 12 months. Not only did the rate increase 25% more, but they are starting my new rate today not after 5/31/22 when the old contract ends. Then after i confirmed the contract and its changes, I was told the fee is effective immediatley AND there's an EARLY TERMINATION FEE of $100 per account for changing contracts. The first person told me if she wrote a note they MAY waive the fee. She also said she was going to send me emails for both confirming our conversation. I was also told at 1:00pm she was sending those emails to me. Of course 5 hours later, no email. I called back at 545 pm and I was told by yet a different agent, that it is the policy of Georgia Natural Gas ® to charge the termination fees and raise the rate on the day you renew the contract, and not on the day the old contract ends. I asked was I supposed to wait until the June 1 after it expired to renew? Why did you send me emails daily? Why did you not tell me this before I accepted a new contract and you dropped the 2 others?? Then i would have had to wait to change from the variable rate which is > 35% more than I already pay per therm. It takes hours to get them onthe phone and do this and i guess they expect us not to work and take our time off to do this!! NOPE they take $$ and DO NOT CARE!! And now I'm locked into 24 months more or Ill have to pay $200 per account to change it!! OMG!!!!!

I called and ordered GNG on 1/31/22 and expected to be qualified for the $100.00 off on first bill offer and GNG started my new account on 3/1. Not only did I not get the $100.00 off but I received a service charge plus taxes of $51.34 for 3/1-3/3.

“ Wanted to give a zero for review. Customer Service does not answer the phone for the inside/outside Atlanta numbers. I tried numerous times over a two week period and got no one after the call was transferred to customer service. I can't see them being that busy. ”
“ Customer service will put me on hold and never came back, at some times they were transferring the call to the right department and never picked up by "right department" I had a new customer sign up bonus of 100 dollars and no one was there to talk about it. I questioned about Senior discount, no answer. Pathetic experience. I will give not even one star, or give negative if I had such option available. I got transferred twice and then given a number 877 855 6200 and when I called that number, it was wrong number. Just imagine how pathetic your service is. ”
“ I had an exceptionally high bill in January. I called the company and was told if I renewed my contract I would be able to be able to request a refund for both January and February bills (since the new price would not kick in until March) and then be re-billed at the lower rate. I renewed, and not only was I not allowed the re-billing, but my bill in March was 650.00. I attempted to call back and was put on hold for over an hour before I was able to speak to anyone. ”
