    No Concern for Customers & Poor Account Management

     I called Georgia Natural Gas ® to set up a payment arrangement and spoke with someone in customer service who took care of setting up the arrangement. The following day my gas was disconnected. Once I returned home I called Customer service and was on the phone 46 minutes most of that time on hold. The customer service agent would periodically check back with me to say that she had someone on the line. The final time she returned she asked if I wanted to set up reconnect shin and I told her I was confused because I thought thats what she had been working on since it was turned off by mistake. She said she wasnt able to have someone come tonight, but that someone could come tomorrow to reconnect however I would have to be home from the hours of 8 to 4. I explained to her that that would mean I would have to take off from work. She said I could call Atlanta gas light which is the distributor to see if there was anything they could do. I called as soon as we hung up the phone and they said there was absolutely nothing on their end that could be done that I would need to speak with Georgia Natural Gas ®. So I can call Georgia Natural Gas ® and ask to speak with a manager or supervisor. I was put on hold for an extended time By the first agent and when I hung up to call back I was then hung up on from the next agent. When I did finally speak with the manager they said that they did not see a reconnection notice for the following day, but for the day after that. She offered me a bill credit and I explain to her that that was not what I was wanting that all I wanted was the gas to be turned back on immediately since it was a mistake that was turned off in the first place. She said there was nothing she could do but send an email to Atlanta Gas Light to see what they could do. Each company is telling me to call the other and I still have no gas! They have admitted that it shouldnt have been disconnected but no one is saying they are sorry and that they will fix their mistake. I spent over two hours on the phone this evening and still got no answers or any genuine attempt to help. So now because of their mistake Im looking at no hot water for me and my family for two days and having to take a whole day off of work to be here for them to reconnect. Its not like this is cable TV were talking hot water and heat. The worst part is that no one apologized or said we made a mistake and we will make it right. They did offer to waive the reconnection fee of $60 as a courtesy. Im confused how thats a courtesy to me when it was their mistake? The only courtesy that Im asking is for it to be turned on as simply as they turned it off.

     I renewed my contract with GNG in August, but changed from the flat rate plan to the per therm plan. For the last 30 days I used a total of 10.4 therms, but still got billed for the flat rate because, according to them, it takes 1-2 billing cycles for tge account to change. And I don't get any credit for the difference! My bill should have been about $10 plus all the made up fees, but now I'm told if I break my new contract I will be charged early termination fees. They'd better take a picture of the last payment I made because that's the last money they're gonna see from me!

    No communication Gas turned off, difficulties restoring NO HOT WATER for 5 Days

     Sign up in line everything said, couldn't talk to a real person so I finally did sign up on line.
    And that's where it stopped.
    Moved in May 1, had hot water until middle of June.
    Came home to no hot water.
    Called constellation energy, talked with someone who
    Wouldn't help me, said call back tomorrow and talk with customer service.
    I didn't want to wait until Friday, so Thursday evening I signed up
    again on line!!
    What no one said was that then you have to get an appointment with Atlanta Gas Light to schedule a turn on.

    So just HOW WAS I SUPPOSED to know this??

    When I called Friday, they told me someone from constellation energy should have called me,

    So that means that twice I signed up and twice they didn't call me.

    When I called customer service early Friday morning they tell me that the first
    available appointment for turn with Atlanta Gas Light is Tuesday.
    So I have to call all weekend without hot water!!! Arghhhh!!
    I then call Atlanta Gas light and tell them my experience and ask if there is any way to get service sooner.
    They tell me that Constellation energy would have to call and tell them it was a marketing error on their part and
    they would move me up.

    I call back to Constellation energy and tell them this and they tell me there is nothing they can do, but offered me
    25 dollars off!!! I told them I would rather have HOT WATER!!!

    I called back again and asked to speak to another supervisor, told him the entire story and he said he would look into everything....called me back at 2 oclock Friday afternoon and said they would move my gas turn on to Monday.....

    I said well Monday is better than Tuesday!!


    No communication....Bottom line....DON"T SIGN UP ON LINE!! and make sure you have a turn on date!!!

    We are sorry to hear this. If you have set up autopay through your bank, you may need to check the draft date to avoid the late fee. If you set up through our online services, please call us at 1.877.467.2262 so we may review. A deposit would only be required if you were disconnected and there was not a deposit on the account. Representatives are available Monday - Friday 7am - 8pm and Saturday 8am- 5pm.

    Ripped Off In Georgia

     This is by far the worst company that I have ever been with. This was my first time dealing with gas, so I choose Scana, the biggest mistake I have made. They should really be called SCAMMERS. I've only been with them since October 2023, I've been paying the bill in full up until February, so I had a past due balance of 80.00, the bill was due on March 15th total due 285.26, on March 13th I paid the bill in full only to find out that after I paid they turned my gas off. They claimed that they sent me two notices in the mail saying that if the past due balance wasn't paid by March 12th that my service would be disconnected. I never received any notifications, if I had received it I would have paid it. Now I have to pay another 225.00, and I still will be without gas until tomorrow. I told these folks that I'm disabled and in a wheelchair and on fixed income and they still didn't give a damn about me. I'm going to put in a complaint with Georgia Public Service Commission and I hope they they are punished in some ways to make them lose money and for ripping off their customers. I know that I will tell everyone that will hear me don't ever use Scana and pass it on because the first chance I get I'm out and never coming back to this greedy ripoff company.

Your billing statement provided the past due information and separate notices mailed with information to prevent disconnect, as well as phone conversations with you on 2/29/24 and an arrangement made. Atlanta Gas Light (AGL) owns the pipes and meter to provide your gas service and are responsible for performing service requests (turn on/off) for the marketers. SCANA Energy accesses AGLs scheduling system and are provided with the first available appointment in your service area unfortunately, they don't perform same day requests. If you need assistance with your bill, you may contact your local Community Action Agency, Partnership for Community Action by using this link https://pcaction.org/get-support/utility-assistance/energy-assistance-heating/, or you may try calling HEAT, Inc. at 678-406-0212 to request bill assistance. I have checked for an earlier reconnection, but your scheduled appointment for tomorrow is the first available. Please call SCANA Energy at 1.877.467.2262 if we may review further.

     I have been with this company for almost six years and I regret it all the time. Of course Im locked into a contract so I cant change right now. They have turned off my gas due to a mistake on their part but instead of apologizing and getting my gas back on today, they will get it on tomorrow. I explained that I have a medical condition and that it is supposed to get down to 34 degrees tonight but nope, tomorrow. We are moving soon and I will NEVER use this company again!

     After being on the phone several hours today with SCANA they agreed to waive the reconnection fees for a disconnection that never should have happened. They said they won't be able to reconnect my gas today and can only do that on Friday(48 hours after disconnection). Normally they give a 4-hour window for reconnection and someone 18+ has to be present for the technician to do the reconnection...tomorrow they could only give me an 8-hour window for reconnection (8am-4pm). I will have to miss a whole day of work waiting on the technician to turn my gas back on. SCANA says they will not credit me back for my day of missed work. All of this for a disconnection that never should have happened. The full payment they were requesting was delivered before the time they specified in the notice. Now all this is my problem apparently....buyer beware!

Unfortunately, they do not offer same day appointments. We are provided the first available date and time slots and schedule accordingly.
